Schedule a Domination Takeover
Broadsign Direct lets you create a Domination or Campaign Takeover Type of Buy for your digital inventory. See Type of Buy.
A Domination or Campaign takeover Type of Buy is used for "domination" campaigns that take over a set of screens for a specific point in time. This type of buy can help your advertisers maximize the impact of their campaigns.
Note: Takeovers will not truncate the current loop or the currently playing content. They come into effect up to one loop length after the start time and will last up one loop length after the end time. Takeovers are not analogous to Events in Broadsign Control Administrator, which do truncate.
When scheduling takeovers, any other existing or affected campaigns that were scheduled on the selected screens are automatically rebalanced based on their priorities to ensure that their goals (impressions or repetition) are still met. For more information, see Use the Rebalancing Feature.
The following are the benefits of a Takeover Type of Buy:
- Considering takeover priorities, you can use them as a tool to charge premium pricing and increase the yield of your network.
- You can use takeovers on multiple screens in the same area to completely dominate the market.
- You can use APIs to sync sound and lighting with your takeovers to create viral immersive experiences.
- When scheduling takeovers, any other existing or affected campaigns that were scheduled on the selected screens are automatically rebalanced to ensure that their goals (impressions or repetition) are still met.
To schedule a domination campaign:
- Access the Digital Inventory Page.
- Set the Ad Length and Flight information.
- Select Takeover in the Type of Buy selection menu and set the saturation percentage.
- Select the screens on which the takeover will take place.
- Click the Create Proposal button on the lower right of the page.
The Proposal Builder is displayed. See Proposal Builder for more details on how to book or hold the proposal.
You can hold takeovers, which means reserving screens for a specific point in time, for the hold expiry date as set in the Domain Settings in the Proposal hold expires at field (see Proposal hold expires at).
The following happens:
- The Digital Inventory page shows the availability as 0.0%. The Fill Rate shows 100% if the takeover is 100% and the selected Type of Buy is Takeover as well. Otherwise, the fill rate can show greater than 100% until the takeover is submitted.
- The Fill Rate shows 100% if the takeover is 100% and the selected Type of Buy is Takeover. Otherwise, the fill rate can show greater than 100% until the takeover is submitted.
- Any existing or affected campaigns that are currently scheduled on the selected screens still run normally.
- When the takeover proposal is submitted for booking, any other existing or affected campaigns that were scheduled on the selected screens are automatically rebalanced to other screens to ensure that their goals are still met.
- The takeover proposal takes up the screen time percentage and flight duration that has been defined in the proposal.
